well that article discusses benifits of protein at night not carbs. As far as the article its nothing new, i have read of many athletes getting up and downing protein and then going back to sleep but i mean thats for serious muscle building goals, I don't think the average person trying to get decently fit or loss weight needs to wake up at 4 and down whey, but thats just me.
However this guy is asking about fruit and tea so its not that relevant here.
So basically it depends on your goals, if you are trying to lose body fat or are trying to add on muscle then you would be better off not having fruit right before bed, instead some milk, cottage cheese, veggies, nuts, low carb items.
