Advocare Fibo-trim -- does it really work?

I went out to eat last night with one of my friends who takes supplements and before he ate he popped 6 of these Fibo-trim pills. I decided why not, so I did the same thing. Do you actually think it works? I guess these pills are to absorb fat. By the way, I am new to this forum so bear with me!

They don't "absorb fat", what they do is PREVENT ABSORPTION of fat by your body. There are supplements that claim to prevent the absorption of carbs as well (Phase 2 blockers).

I know people who buy and use these regularly. The products (like Fibo-trim) consist of a type of fiber that binds to fat. Since fiber isn't absorbed by the body ever the fat goes out the body with the fiber.

Here's the thing though: these products have been shown in studies to reduce cholesterol, but there is no good research to show that it helps weight loss of any kind.

I should also add that by eating out, you're getting more than just the fat that the pills are supposed to absorb. You're getting a lot of other bad stuff that will screw you over either way.
