Advice Regarding Headphones

When I work out, I NEED music, so I've been looking at headphones to purchase in the new year. I have tiny ears, so the little ones that go in your ear fall out.

What works good for you? What would you suggest?

Sony (for great sound) and buy the ones that go around the back of your neck and wrap over the top of each ear. They don't fall off and they have a very rich sound. They're not too big either and only cost $20.00.

I've used these for a long time and like them:

I'm still waiting for wireless gym earphones.

motorola s9 headphones!

they are wireless/blue tooth... I stream mp3s from my treo phone to the headphones.. there amazing, worth every penny I spent on them!

Oh wow, they actually have them now.

Yea, but that thing wrapping around the back of my head would drive me nuts on exercises where my head is against the bench!

Do you have experience with that?

I really just like the regular cheapy little 4.95 Koss headphones that go OVER your ears (like the old-school Walkman headphones).

Earbuds build up crazy pressure in my ears and they hurt something fierce. I have to have a kind that go over my head.

The only bad thing about the Koss ones is that if you like to listen to your music loud, other people can hear it a little, too. So don't listen to anything too embarrassing. :D

well that back peice actually doesnt touch the back of your head... the only thign that does is the ear buds.. I run miles and miles with them and there water resistant! And they also have volume / track controls on them there unreal if someone calls in they can work as a headset... so Im running and jammin lol and someone calls in I can answer on my headphones and talk to the person through the headphones, I cant live with out them!

Right, I can see how they'd be great for that sort of thing. But again, with weight training, things that go behind your head usually end up getting in the way. Anytime you lay supine on a bench you're going to be having the earphones knocked out of your ears, at least that's my experience.

It's not about what's touching your head.

It's about what could potentially be between your head and a bench. Not sure if I'm explaining myself clearly.

nah I understand it could be a problem laying down with the back peice hitting off a bench I see where your comming from, other than that there awesome.

Gives me hope that they'll soon be making wireless ones that have no attachments except for around the ear.

Thanks.

Alright, Most wireless headphones have very poor sound quality. Unless your willing to go to the 200buck level or so you won't find any that come close to wired headphones.

I don't think of sony when I'm think of solid headphones. Instead, I think of sennheiser, Vmod, bose, shure, and philups makes some decent 20buck headphones. Sonys from the many I have used tend to be very poor at the low end of the spectrum and overly bright at the high end.

A couple of things to note about wireless headphones. You won't be able to listen to the FM on any portable music player (mp3/pmp's). Most players EQ's and sound enhancement settings do not work with most bluetooth capable players when using wireless headphones. Also, the battery will drain much faster than normal.

If you are going for corded workout phones. Ensure its single corded and the cord is on the short side. A dedicated volume control on the headphones is a nice feature for gym workouts.

One of the best ways to go about it is attain a bluetooth capable MP3 player and purchase bluetooth headphones. You can keep the player in your gym bag and be cord free. Some bluetooth phones can be on the heavier side(generally the cheaper ones). When laying on a bench they might slowly loose grasp on your skull and fall off. Its very annoying to feel your headphones sliding off as your trying to bench...
If your not afraid of the "waves" and don't might spending a little more bank than usual on quality wireless phones and a blue tooth capable player you can get a very nice gym set up going.

I suggest Skullcandy headphones. They come in all different colors and styles- everything from the big old school headphones that cover your ears completely to ear-buds, and all sorts of prices.

Yup! Atleast for the most part... regular wireless headphones(none bluetooth) Anyone I have ever used was a complete waste of time... they really do not go far range wise and the sound quality is terrible.

I just happened to have the palm phone and seen the headphones and decided to give it a try I cant live without them now...
