Advice - Phentermine

Hi all,

I have been prescribed Phentermine HCL 30mg by my doctor to start my weight loss. I am at my heaviest (12st) and am 5"8 tall with a BMI of 25.5. I am only on day 1 and feeling positive as I have zero appetite and craving water (and lots of it). I have been on a slimming pill in the past and got down to a very slim 9st in the space of a couple of months, however this wasn't monitored by a doctor and the pill was taken off the market due to it containing Sibutramine. 4 years on and I have put that weight back on and more. I am determined not to see this as a quick fix and for it to change my habits unlike last time. Id just like to see if anyone has taken Phentermine before and any advice they have for me? Along with how much weight I may lose weekly, taking into account my weight and height (I am 29 years old).

Thanks

I used to take a few years before and after I lost 12 kilos during a year I'm still keeping it off :) The main thing in using such stuff is taking smaller doses and when you wich to quit taking, you need to do this little by little to avoid negative effects for your nervous system and whole organism. Good luck!

I must admit that I think that you would be better served to leave the diet pills alone and simply retune your food plan and lifestyle so that you started to lose weight naturally.

Diet pills are drugs and as such they do not tend to do your body favours over the long term. We do not need diet pills to lose weight. We need to eat at an appropriate calorie level for our lifestyle... While we are sorting things out - we can check the nutrients in our food plan to ensure that we are getting enough of a whole heap of nutrients - like protein, fibre, calcium etc not to mention making sure that we are drinking enough water... Lots of people over-eat and are malnourished... I certainly was...

With a BMI of 25.5 you do not have much weight to lose. If you lose it by adopting healthier habits you will be less likely to gain it all again... Your own experience has taught you that diet pills gave a short term fix but not long term results last time round... You would not be on any new diet pill permanently - so I think that history could easily repeat itself.

Hello!

I went to my doctors for my physical on monday, she prescribed me Phentermine. So far I've lost a pound a day, I work 2 jobs so I haven't had time to make a workout schedule yet. I've been meal prepping my meals, I've only been eating chicken breast with veggies/salad so far. It definetly curves your appetite. I make sure to eat breakfeast (fruits) and a protein bar for snack, lunch, dinner. I don't eat after 8. I've been drinking tremendous amounts of water lol and as fast as I drink it is as fast as I'm releasing it. So far so good for me.
