Advice needed. :)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can give advice on supplements?

I am weight training to put abit of muscle (not bodybuilding though)
I currently take Whey Protein, creatine, glutamine and I take multivitamins with iron.
I'm 6 foot 5, early 20's. I am a slim build, so should i eat more or should i take a supplement? e.g. Weight gain?

Also is there any other supplements that anyone can recommend to assist with muscle growth? Seems like a minefield when looking on some of these supplement sites.

i only take supplements on training days (which is 3-4days a week). Should i take these supplements everyday for optimum effect?

Thanks. Any advice is welcome.

You are doing the right thing on exercise and diet routines. You should probably limit the supplement intake. It's because if you take a supplement like cabbage soup diet recipe for example on a daily basis, it may have some serious negative effects to the body. Remember that these are supplements which act as enhancers which are not natural. So, take the supplements only in moderation for you to achieve the weight and body you want.

Cabbage soup is NOT A SUPPLEMENT! Its a fad diet. Completely different.

/sigh

The supplements you're already taking (minus the glutamine, which is useless) are fine. Some fish oil caps would be a good addition though if you don't already get enough EFA's through your diet.

If you can stomach eating more food, I'd eat whole food over a weight gainer (which is loaded with simple sugars). Having said that, there's nothing wrong with some simple sugars in your post-workout meal/shake. protein, simple carbs, and your daily teaspoon of creatine post-workout, then eat a whole meal an hour later.

If you ain't growing, you're not eating enough. If eating more doesn't make you sick/bloated feeling, up the 'real food' vs. weight gainer.
