Haven't been on here for a while but will be a lot more.
I am 37 years old, though I been told I look in my 20's on a daily basis which is always nice to hear. Anyway, I am 6 feet and 170 right now, I do not want to get big, tried that in the past and my body just doesnt seem to adapt.
What I want to do is get ripped but stay lean. So here is what i am doing right now and am noticing results, but is curious is there are other ways and thoughts
1. Start off with weights, usually 15 reps rest for 1 min and 15 reps again, using a weight that i can handle for 4 sets
2. After weights I hit the eliptical machine (forgive my spelling) for about 40 minute on a pretty high level, Then I hit the Jump Rope for about 15 minutes after that
3. Then I work on my core (mostly from an old back injury) for about 20 min, doing stretches for lower back, these things though not focused on my abs also help that.
4. Then of course trying to eat healthy and have more smaller meals
I am noticing my gut going down which is great, in fact it is smaller then it has ever been since I was a teen, Always been a lean guy but had this little gut, and surprising my weight has gone from 160 to 170, i am presuming it is because muscle weighs more.
That is me in a nutshell, was hoping for ideas for firming and toning, more cardio? more reps, reps to exhaustion, how many days i should take off?
thanks all
