Adventure Racing!

One of my hobbies is adventure racing. I didn't really know where to post this, but since I do most of my posting in here I thought I would share it with everyone in here. I just did a "sprint" race (short course) a few weeks ago, and here are the photos.

[Saturday, September 6th was the Southwest Sprint Championships - Sprint Adventure Race Series

Events: 2-3 mile trail run, 7-12 mile mountain bike,1- 2 mile canoe, and mystery events (team challenges - physical, mental, or both)

Sarah and I before the race, as indicated by the smiles and lack of sweat and mud.

Sarah does some last minute maintenance on her mountain bike before the race.

Race is about to start.

Sarah and I enter the transition area after the running leg. (Racers must always hold hands entering the TA together, and at the finish).

Cruisin' into the TA after the mountain bike leg.

Taking off for the kayak leg of the race.

Coming out of the water, ready for the last challenge.

Entering finish line, after having taken quite a spill looking back over my shoudler while turning into TA.

Crossing the final finish line! TOO SHORT!!! Gimme another 20 miles please!

That's awesome JP (and Sarah). Congratulations!!

This is our idea of Adventure Racing ;)

That does look fun actually. I just can't afford any more hobbies (time-wise that is). I am a speed freak and adreniline junkie. Do you race or just ride for sport?

DH races, but just for fun. That picture was taken in Kershaw, SC a few weeks ago. It was just an open track event. He like autocross and drag as well. Something about men and the need for speed.... ;)
