I see this forum has no active admins. It also seems like there are a lot of different ones, that don't seem to do anything.

I am still new to this forum so I may be wrong, but when I look at the Members List, it seems like we need a new admin.

Theres a few things that need to be fixed/changed/added to this forum, but if theres no one to do it, nothing will ever change.

The admins may just be for the site owners/workers. If so, they really need to appoint an admin, specificly for this forum, I'm sure there are many people who would do good, and would like the job.

Opinions?
 
We don't really need to do any maintanance on the site in my opinion. People ask questions, questions get answered, and that's it.

We don't too often have complete mindless dribble. Any illegal advertisments get swiftly taken care of by our ever so beloved Superman.

One thing I noticed is that you never stated any specific problems.

Becuase there was no real need to state the problems. Though, I will.

  • We are using an out of date version of vBulletin
  • Unorganization of some boards (Forums that have no need to be here)
  • Without an active Admin, if something were to go wrong, it would take a long time to get fixed

The major problem I have seen so far, is that there is no reason to suggest things to be fixed, due to without an active Admin, there is no reason for you to post it. Nothing will be changed, nothing will be fixed.

It's not hard to appoint an active Admin. It would take minutes of work, and would resolve many problems.

I can see why you would not agree with me, since I'm still new to this forum, and when it comes down to it, people don't like to hear major suggestions like this coming from 'newbs'. The reason I am posting this, is because this is EXACTLY what is happening on another forum I use, I Moderate it. We have 1 admin, who is not active. Everything was fine untill out population raised, now we have idiots here and there wanting changes, demanding things, ddos attacking out servers because the admin wont fix things...

It turns into a big problem if you don't have a leader/admin.
 
I dont know about the version update, but I do know that I see our admins on almost daily. I constantly find posts by mreik and abear, and I usually see aevans logged in.
 
Mreik is a Super mod. A mod is much different from an admin. I looked on the members list, and none of the admins have... like any posts.

Now that I look at the members list again, the top posting admin only has 32 posts!

The forum is functioning fine as is. The board works fine in terms of allow people to post and displays the posts in a readable text.

That's all we really need. I'm surprised we even have super mods.
 
Opinions are always welcome, but just because the admins don't have very many posts, doesn't mean that they're not constantly looking at the board. Heck, you don't even need to be logged in to look at the board. vBulletin is working just fine at this version, and with the minor upgrades it isn't really worth the trouble.. And the forums that you feel shouldn't be here, probably aren't posted in very much, so they're not in the way.

I doubt you saw, but the something went wrong with the board probably 2 months ago, and was promptly fixed within 2 days.
 
I have no idea how much 'behind the scenes' admin work goes on but, the forum seems to function extremely well. advertisers and spammers are dealt with quickly and the forum always seems to function.

Admins don't have to be post whores.. and because there not, don't mean there not active.

Admin or not.. we got mods, and they do the job well. Mreik is always on top of threads, spams, and all the above. Haven't been here long enough to see Abear in action, but I'm sure its samething.

Version it don't matter.. long it isn't crashing every day then no need for updates.

Relax with the accusations.. and because your new like me... get a feel for things. Spend your time reading before posting like I did. Not even 70 posts and bringing up how problems "probably" can't be dealt with quick enough.. Thats a mods concern.. not yours.

Just because Grandeur isn't logged in here, trust me, he responds to our (meaning moderator) messages very fast.

I don't post here much anymore due to time constraints, but I do lurk for illegal activity.

Like they said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
 
I just wiped one out spamming herbs. :D

I usually just delete the entire post and ban the person right then and there. It's fun to then go watch them on the "who's online" page trying to figure out what's going on
