Abs...

hey just want to know everybody's take on working out your abs when you are fat....I've heard that unless you have a low body fat percentage that abs workout just won't help at all.
 
The thing is that you won't see your abs if there is a layer of fat covering them up.
Reducing your overall body fat will allow you to see muscles that you are developing.
 
I understand this. But that doesn't answer my question. Should I be concerned about working my abs when I have a BMI of 40 and over?
 
That's really up to you.

I worked my abs since the beginning (39 BMI) and now after losing 60 pounds I'm seeing a little of my hard work appearing.
