I looked this word up in the Oxford English Dictionary but couldn't find an entry for it. One on-line medical dictionary listed it as an illness caused by not eating. Is abrosia the same as fasting or is it a disease?
hey bear.... If i remember my greek mythology ambrosia was the food of the gods and earthbound mortals werent allowed to have it. So its probably the lack of food/starvation..... but hey its just my guess and my two cents..........
I think I went on the same site as you, it said condition resulting from not eating.I couldn't even find it on Wikipedia I don't think it is necessarily an illness. If you starve yourself, this results in starvation. Perhaps 'abrosia' is a synonym of starvation, possibly with a less sinister tone.
It really seems to be a synonym for fasting... i've seen anther site, that's currently dead, that has in it's description "10 days healing abrosia to purify your body accompanied by a Qi Gong seminar "
And here I always thought ambrosia was that tasty marshmallow "salad" sidedish. YOu know, coloured marshmallows, yogurt, pineapple and mandarin oranges... *drool*

But anyway, abrosia is not a 'condition' or 'disease'. It is simply the product of not eating, therefore used in cases of fasting or in those were someone doesn't eat for any given reason.
as we all know tho, unless for a religion, not eating for long periods is extremely unsafe and foolish
