About me

I put on a large amount of weight following high school (though admittedly I was a big guy even then by comparison to most) I've had a few yoyo experiences in my weight as an adult ranging from 240lbs to 378lbs at 6ft tall. My highest ever 378 was just 2 1/2 months ago. I knew in my heart I couldn't keep living that way and made a commitment to my family and myself to change for good. I'm down to 330lbs and working on changing things forever. I joined this forum because I want to hear from others on the same journey. I want to get to know and interact with a group of people that understand this struggle and to help lift up anyone I can while we go through this process. Our future belongs to us, we deserve the best one possible and with hard work we can all overcome weight that has held us back for too long and prevented us from being the best versions of ourselves.

I wish that you will no longer need to struggle with weight loss once you reached your goal weight (I know you will :)). A forum like this one is super helpful to constantly remind you why you are going through the process and it helps to know that you are not alone in that journey.

Keep fighting, playa! :)

Welcome Ryan! Nice to meet you! Wow, you made some great progress already! I hope that your efforts will pay off. What are your goals? What are your strategies?

Well, do to a fatty liver diogenes when I was at my highest a few months ago I chose to restrict carbs but I am also conscientious about calories as well and I've incorporated about 2 to 3 very long walks each week. I've also adoped the life style mindsets. My food volume strategy has been to eat what I felt someone at a healthy weight would eat and my goal is just to eat that way from here on out, what my weight settles at is what my goal will be. I plan to incorporate new exercise methods as I continue to lose but am going to be very certain that what I incorporate is sustainable. I don't have a time frame on this my focus is just one day at a time and to be a little bit healthier each and every day. I want to change this for good so I've decided I don't have the luxury of looking at this like a temporary program or short term diet. I need every change I make from here on out to be a permanent thing. Now I'm not naive and I know not every exercise I try is going to be right for me so I'm flexible in trying new things but I'm carful increasing volume so it's easier to incorporate those changes every day and every week moving forward. Lifestyle Change. I hope this reply is helpful to someone.

Also I'm looking to start posting progress pictures as I know those can be really motivating for people. I'm really looking forward to talking with all of you and keeping you all updated. Feel free to ask me any questions. I look forward to a continue dialogue with everyone out there.

Wanted to do a small progress update current weight is at 325 down from 330 and my highest weight of 378. Feeling so much better as the weight drops, more active and mobile. Thanks to everyone for the support and wishing you all the best!

Well done mate! Great progress at an awesome rate!
