Well, I feel like I'm introducing myself to an AA group heh, well w/e here we go, I'm allen, 20 y/o, in my third year at eastern illinois university but I have senior credit, Ummm...in highschool I was realy active, ran XC and track, was in Advanced PE (lifting and plymetrics) but I've had a skeleton in my closet, I smoke cigarettes and have been smoking since 8th grade, so back in highschool I never felt the effects of the smoking because my body was so active, not so in college, I became a couch potato and my weight is upto 190 from 135 when I graduated and had 8.75% body fat, last I checked a couple months ago my BF was upto 16%...pretty unacceptable for me, and I've been trying to run on a consistant basis and get back into lifting but my body is fighting me allot, it feels like after every workout I've been hit by a truck. I've tried to kick smoking but when I see the weight piling on or when I get stressed by school and classes I go right back the squares. Well, thats me in a nutshell.

welcome to the forums! quitting smoking can be very difficult, there's no doubt about that! there are other ways for stress relief, have you tried meditation? or yoga?

i started a club that is for people 21 and under, if you would like to join.. go to the club, and find "club for people 21 and under" i just thought this might interest you and keep you motivated!

ive heard that hypnosis is great for trying to quit smoking, although i never would have thought it, u could try that :) also with working out are u trying to do a lot all at once? cause if u feel like uve been hit by a truck maybe u should ease up on ur body at first and gradually increase the amount. it seems totally unfair that it takes a month to lose a few pounds and only one meal to gain one :(
