Ab Lounge

Is the Ab Lounge affective? I usually do situps on this chair/ slanted bench thing at the gym but it was really hurting my back one day so I used an ab lounge instead. I just heard that some stay-at-home fitness equiptment like this could be a sham.

I searched the forums before posting, couldn't find anything on ab lounge.
 
A Swiss Ball or some people call it Stability Ball is way more effective. It increases abdominal stimulation by 40%, also I think is cheaper too.

Look for core stabilization exercises like:

Floor "Plank,Side Planks, Mountain Climbers or single leg raises"

Swiss Ball "Plank, Jacknife, overhead squats or Mountain Climbers"

Also Push-ups are really good for your core "abdominals"
