A quick introduction...

My name is Michael and I decided it might be time to find a bit more support. I am currently between 200 and 210 (might be a good idea to purchase a scale)

5 Years ago I tipped the scales at 255 lbs and was a strong candidate for developing diabetes. I managed to change my lifestyle and managed to drop a lot of weight, but I've been in the ballpark of 200 lbs for a few years now and I've struggled to drop any more.

My goal is to weigh 180... I'm 5'11" and I realize the bmi states I should be around 155 but I do have a pretty large frame and I don't think I want to be able to see my skeletal structure.

I've just got into cycling and I know this will help a great deal, but where my problem really lies is my diet. I live in a room & board type situation and can't always control what I eat for supper. I often skip breakfast and when I do, I'll eat the standard eggs and bacon. I tend to snack occasionally at work as well while sitting in front of a computer... yeah, I know, extreamly bad habits... but of course that's why I'm here now isn't it?

Hi & welcome!!!

Maybe you could get a basket of fruit every few days and limit your snacking to just fruits? Then at your meals, try to have your veggies on the side? That would help you cut back on some serious calories just by doing that.

Have you tried writting down EVERYTHING you eat? I would suggest starting a diary in the diary section. It can be very enlightening if you are honest with yourself.

I wish you the best!
