a question about calves

Hey everybody sorry if this has already been discussed..,

I'm down 49 pounds now, I was just wondering if it's normal see slow progress on your calves? I've got a difference almost all over my body but my calves are lagging behind and they are starting to look really big & out of proportion to my body at 17 inches

Does anybody have any ideas for any excercises or anything I can do to help this?

cheers :)

I still have a lot of weight to lose but my calves measured at 17 and I reduced them to 15.5. What I do is (I do this at work) everytime I go to the copier I do calf lifts where I raise up on my toes and down again and I do it at a medium speed and once I really feel the burn, I then do 5 more. The difference I noticed is the inches and now when I look at them from behind, you can see muscle definition. Great results for such an easy exercise. Good Luck.

It is incredibly normal to see slow progress in your calves.

Added, you can't spot reduce, fat comes off where it wants to. So just continue to lose overall body fat and trust me they will budge. :)

I've always wondered about this, but never heard anybody comment on it. I've noticed that bigger people's calves are usually quite big, but I've always thought that it was muscle, due to having to hold up all the weight. I've always had a theory that it would be slow to shrink calf size because that muscle would be slower to shrink than the fat. Maybe I'm wrong though, maybe there are vast fat stores in calves, I dunno. I've never thought so though.

Mine have stayed almost the same. When I was 135 they were 15" and now they are about 15.5 (189lbs now). I guess it depends on the person, everyone gains weight differently....

Maybe it is because I am short and I am always doing raises to reach things...lol....
