A Passing at the Gym. :-(

So I was working my chest, I hear a guy running around calling for a doctor. I didn't think much of it; I mean people pull something, break something, or throw up all the time. Anyways once the paramedics were outside, I came to see what everybody was looking at. Well as it turns out a fellow, I would say mid 40's, maybe early, was lying on the ground, and not moving. A few people were giving him cpr I think before the medic showed up. Anyways long story short, they shocked him, tubed him, and called a time of death. It would seem to me it was cardiac arrest of some sort, which is really hard to survive if you don't have a doctor / paramedic present quickly (5%-10% survival rate I think I've read). Seeing somebody die is really hard; It also was very sad because he had a good gut on him; so he was probably there trying to get healthy.

Well my heart goes out to his family and friends.

Sorry you witnessed that

Yes, that's a very difficult experience. That's why everyone is supposed to consult a doctor - case and point. It is also a motivation never to end up in his situation if at all possible. If seeing this caused you great trouble, you may want to consider seeking a psychologist, PhD or social worker, LSW to help you sort it out in a session or two.

Oh no I'm phycologically stable, other than feeling a bit blue I'm fine. But this has really changed my out look on workouts; it's not just for looks anymore, it's for health as well; you need to do it to keep healthy and strong. And that's great motivation.
