hey! ;)
im a newbie, hope you all are ready to join me on my journey to losing 3st!
i know, its going to take a long time but im more determined than ever before. i am so ashamed of myself for letting myself get to this weight, im also only 5'2 so you can imagine how big and frumpy i look.

i woke up this morning (7/06/05) and after a crap night of tears headaches and backache i decided enough is enough and here i am on the weight loss forums! :p

i have given myself a target of losing 3st and ideally i would like to lose this by 31/08/05, but realistically i know this it quite impossible to achieve so here we go again with another target, atleast 2st by august 31st. This is when me and my boyfriend will be going away and i want to feel thinner and healthier.

MY GOAL
* lose atleast 2st (28lb) by 31st August*
- this needs to be maintained by losing atleast 1st (14lb) in the first four weeks.
- there after a steady weightloss of 5lb's needs to be lost every two weeks.

CALORIE PLAN
*1200kcal per day*
- no more than this should be consumed.

EXERCISE PLAN
*walk to work everyday*
- allowing 40 minutes to work up a sweat so that the walking is doing something for my body

DOWNFALLS - these must be avoided!
*crisps*
*chocolate*
*not drinking enough water*
*not walking to work atleast once a day (either to or from)
*no eating after 6pm*
- the only thing to be consumed after this time should be water.

i will be updating during the day after my lunch and dinner and once i have finished work. i should also mention that i work evenings 5-9pm and im sat down for 4hours staring at a computer screen and so i walk to work and back, 40minutes each way, and boy last night walking home i sweated like a p-i-g lol

i think i am going to use this diary as an online food diary, to keep track of what i have eaten and the calories i have consumed, so here we go:

This morning:
Breakfast: two slices of toast with clover butter 300kcal
one glass of filtered water.

wow thats alot for breakfast dont ya think?

Lunch:
Tesco Healthy Living Chicken Salad Sandwich 255kcal
two cheesey jumbo snack'a'jacks 76kcal
7 cocktail sausages 217kcal :mad:
couple mouthfulls of water

Afternoon Snack:
2 caramel snack'a'jacks 100kcal
2 small satsumas 100kcal

Tea:
1 peeled raw carrot
1 small apple & 1 small satsuma
i dont know the calories for them, not much so id say 150kcal.
1 bottle of water

Evening:
1 slice of cheese 40kcal
4 cocktail sausages 124kcal
2 carrots 100kcal


my total 1462kcal - wow i went over my daily limit :mad: but atleast i havnt eaten crap today! whoohoo go me! :)

i think i have done pretty well today so far, seeing as though i have been at home all day (apart from when i went food shopping) and being at home and being bored is the worst for me cuz i always binge eat at these times but i have kept myself busy by coming on these forums and doing some much need ICT revision!

Welcome sunshine_gurly. I don't know the conversions from st to pounds or from kcals to US calories, but I wish you luck in your weight loss anyway. Make sure you keep your goals realistic and that you stay positive. Weight loss is a long term commitment, and you'll have to try different things in order to determine what is best for you. As far as your breakfast goes, I don't know what clover butter is, but your breakfast didn't sound big to me at all. Breakfast is the first meal of the day, and personally I think its okay if its just as big or bigger than your lunch, because you need the fuel. I often have 2 slices of whole wheat toaste with peanut butter and jam, along with a small glass of weight watchers approved orange juice and it gets me going in the morning. Check around other people's diaries to get motivated and to pick up new ideas for different foods to eat and ways of exercising. And again, good luck!

Welcome to our forum! We are all going thru the same things...but we are here to help each other and believe me so much support & power can be gained from these people! I honestly dont know what i did w/out this forum. It sounds like you are motivated & willing to sacrifice foods that are sacrificing your happiness... I always try to tell myself that my happiness & health is more important than a piece of food. Good luck!
 
Day Two

Breakfast:
2 slices of toast with clover butter 300kcal
1 class of diluted juice 30kcal

Snack:
1 carrot 50kcal

Lunch:
150g new jersey royal baby potatoes 130kcal
2 carrots 100kcal
6 flourets of boiled and drained cauliflower 26kcal

i will update later about my tea etc but so far i have eaten 636kcal which leaves me with 564kcal for my tea, which is more than enough :) x

Hey sunshine! I would highly recommend doing some sort of protein in the morning..even if you add Peanut butter to your toast that will help...I try to never have a carb w/out a protein...it is processed more efficiently & I recommend only whole wheat & whole grains also...takes longer for your body to turn it into sugar.
Also...sorry, im not trying to rag on you..but you are having potatoes & carrots...both really high startches... maybe try to have one of those & not both...Carrots have a higher glycemic index (higher sugars) and wont hold you as long as other veggies & fiber...and it will eventually turn to sugars & may make you hungrier...

Day Three

wow todays been a pretty crap day! lol i havnt really taken account some calories today :-S oops! *slaps wrist* but i did have an exam and so needed a big lunch inside me before! lol

Breakfast
two slices of toast with clover butter

snack
small salad with 2 carrots

Lunch
prawn sandwich with lettuce
packet of snack-a-jacks
2 small plums

Tea
one bowl of golden grahams

pretty crap today huh! i feel so bad :'-( but on the plus side i have already drank 1 litre of water! at least my intake of water has improved today! :) x
 
Day Four

Breakfast
two slices of toast with peanut butter (advice from stoptheexcuses taken aboard!)

Lunch
Jacobs Cream Crackers (only 31kcal each) with tinned tuna mixed with light salad cream
10 cherries
2 carrots

Tea
one bowl of golden grahams

snack
one bananna
3 sausages
