Hey i'm a 21 year old female, i'm 5ft6 and last time i was weighed was around 127 pounds. i'm aware that is a completely normal size to be and i don't need to lose any weight. However, i have my sisters wedding coming up and wanted to look skinny and toned- my skin is very pale and that tends to accentuate any areas of fat. so over a month and a half ago i started running hills every day for about twenty minutes, doing a 40 minute core exercise routine three times a week and also eating around 1200 calories a day, no fat, very low sugar, basically consisting of boiled lean meat, boiled vegetables, fruit and high-fibre cereal.

I have a habit of not looking at myself in the mirror while i'm losing weight so i don't lose motivation. however, after a month and a half of this routine i accidentally caught sight of myself and realised i looked like i still had no tone and a decent layer of fat on my stomach. why on earth is nothing changing? i feel like my body just refuses to lose weight any more. does anyone have any tips?

Instead of doing just "core" for 40 mins, do a full-body strength routine 3 days per week that incorporates some core. If you're only doing cardio and core, you're not doing anything that will help maintain muscle mass and definition.

You need muscle definition to feel and look tone. Sounds like you've got a great start, but you really need to add weight lifting to your routine to see what you are looking for.

Carbs = sugar, sugar = carbs.

Fruits, vegetables (depending on what) and high fibre cereal all contain carbs. Find your body's limit and adjust it accordingly. And you need fats to burn body fat, don't take it out completely. All 3 macronutrients are important.

Don't boil your vegetables. All the necessary nutrients in them gets boiled away into the water. You should steam them. Just so you know ;)

I will have to agree with HyungJun and also suggest to cut sugar substantially. Keeping sugar intake low isn't just the ultimate solution. You need to bring to negligent levels without having it to forgo. Just go for some natural sweetener that are mostly zero calorie. Stevia, agave, honey, maple syrup etc. can be used.

I don't know about stevia, but agave, honey, and maple syrup are nowhere near zero calories. Sugar is sugar is sugar... your body deals with it the same no matter what form its in, obviously excluding some artificial sweeteners.

if you're looking to lose more fat, i'd increase the lenght of your exercices, but with a lower intensity. For example, instead of 40 min, do 60 min. That will turn your body on a ''use fat'' mode.

That is false. You use more calories during higher intensity hence body fat loss.

Plenty of scientific journal articles out there to say it doesn't matter whether you exercise before or after a meal. Do what gives you more energy to push harder to burn more calories.

In my point of view if you really want to lose your weight then you have to join P90x program .This program is maximum of 90 days and you see the results.

Hey guys ,

I think you are doing good effort to look smart and attractive. Increase your level of activity by incorporating an hour of moderate intensity exercise into your daily schedule. Start gradually and slowly increase your level of exertion and length of your workout. Combine workouts that include both aerobic exercise and strength training.
