A little help

Hey all I'm new here and from London, uk.

I'm 19 and weight around 156lbs and am about 5"7 - I recenetly started this fitness regime but no luck so far, my scales aren't that reliable though so I weight myself like 5 times and use the average weight - after a week I'd lost a pound but then the week after I'd put it back on.
Here is what my diet consists of

To eat

For breakfast - 1 weetabix (only 1 because I hate eating when I get up so I can just about force it down), with some whole milk and some low fat sugar.

For Lunch - Wholemeal rolls or sandwiches or granary rolls or sandwiches with chicken slices and no butter. With a low fat yoghurt after.

For Tea - Most days just a random mix up of stuff which includes - pasta/bread/carrots/lettuce/cucumbor (a poor mans salad basically)
or maybe once a week I have beans on toast (wholemeal) With a low fat yoghurt after.

I snack aswell, which is mainly an apple a day.
Oh and I only drink water - around 3-5 pints a day.

Exercise

Monday - 3 Miles Running
Tuesday - Hour at the gym
Wednesday - 2 Hours football
Thursday - 1 hours football, 1 hour at gym
Friday - 1 Hour gym, then work in which I do alot of walking around.
Saturday - 8 hours work in which I do alot of walking around again.
Sunday - 1 hour at the gym.

Note: At the gym I do 20 minutes treadmill, 20 minutes Biking machine, 5 minutes rowing machine, 5-10 minutes weights and then finish off with 5-10 minutes of elliptical machibe.
I'd like to lose around a stone and a half if possible, any advice on whats going wrong or how I can improve my diet? thanks :)

Well it seems you a highly active individual. Id like to see you add up your daily calorie intake and see the number. Use something like and repost with the amount. It'll probably show a lack of calories. You need to eat 5-8 small meals per day, and an apple doesnt count for a snack, but could be included as part of a snack. I would also drink a bit more water, again because your activity level is high.

definitely start with adding up the calories. then figure out how many calories your body needs to survive in an average day. then, either eat less than that each day, or work off the calories. (its easier, some say, to not eat them, instead of working them off).
Example: Total Calories Needed = 2000
Total Calories Eaten -1800
At this point, you are negative 200 calories each day.
Then add in your exercise calories burned= 300 (20-30 thirty minutes of cardio fo example)
So you have a total of negative 500 calories each day
3500 Calories equal 1 lb. (sorry, don't know the conversion to stones)
500 calories x 7 days = 3500 = 1 lb per week, which is a safe amount to lose.

Now you just have to find out how many calories your body needs and how many calories those foods are. Just search the site or the web for "calorie counters", there are free ones everywhere.
