A little cardio before weight lifting?

Can i do like 5 minutes or so on an eliptical just to get the blood flowing before i move on to my weight training workout? Should i just stay away from it altogether?
 
You need to do something to warm up before your weight training. 5 minutes of cardio is ideal as long as it is enough to generate some heat in your body.
 
Cool-thanks. I just wanted to just enough cardio to get the blood pumping and warmed up but not enought to eat into my weight training benefits.
