Weight-Loss

I have a few questions about my current diet. First things first. Im 6'0'' and 210 lbs. I hope to lose about 20-25 lbs. All the extra lbs seem to be situated on my stomach and love handles. Long term goal I'm not looking for a 6 pack I just want a flat stomach and lve lose the love handles.

Now do to a back injury I'm not able to much if any cardio, lifting etc. So until my back gets better I have decided to start eating healthy and give myself a jumpstart when I am able to workout.

So anyway before this gets too long this is what I've been eating for the past week.

Breakfast-Oatmeal or Egg white omelet w/ 1 piece of wheat toast lightly buttered

Snack-Apple or orange

Lunch-Salad w/ tuna and light dressing or Turkey on Wheat bread w/ light mustard

Snack-Banana or some celery

Dinner-Broiled skinless chicken breast with veggies either carrots, brocolli or string beans

If I'm hungry later I'll just grab some cerlery or an apple or something
Also I've only been drinking water, like at least a gallon a day. All I drink is water except the occasional glass of OJ with breakfast.

Does it look good? Anything I should add or avoid? Is it bad to eat a ton of vegetables a day? Like if I'm really hungry is there anything negative about eating a ton of celery or baby carrots a day?

Thanks

Wow 19 veiws and no replies?

Can someone confirm this is in the right section?

Patience. :p

..light mustard? Normal mustard is 3-5 calories a tsp(if it says 0 cals on the bottle it's likely to actually be 3). Unless you mean as opposed to something like honey mustard.

Generally there's no such thing as too many veggies. Some vegtables have more calories than others, but as long as you're keeping portions in check that shouldn't be a problem. I don't see a problem with this diet really, looks pretty balanced to me (maybe get some dark leafy greens in there once in a while). My only question to you is, is it sustainable? Would you be fine eating like this even after you've lost the weight, or are you going to jump back to your old eating habits? The key to keeping most diets successful in the long term is to eat healthily but not completely deny your old favorite foods(you don't mention whether you crave certain foods or anything, so I could be adding this for nothing. If you're very content eating this way then that's great. ). There's nothing wrong with eating the occasional cheeseburger or whatever it may be, so long as you're not eating an excessive amount of calories and keeping portions in check.

Thanks for the reply.

I have been eating like this for about a week and let me tell you I crave cheeseburgers and all sorts of food like that. When I do I usually just grab and apple or some celery.

Is it going to be sustainable after I reach my target weight? I hope so. The good thing is I really do like veggies, chicken and water has grown on me. I think it will be a little easier for me since I live alone and the only food that is in my cabinets is good food. My idea of cheating is making a tuna sandwich with mayo for lunch. Prob not the best thing but after a few weeks and a few pounds lost I think I deserved a treat.

What I meant by light mustard was a little bit of mustard, not some type of Light Mustard.

Oh, lol, I should have figured that out! Silly of me.

Well, I wish you luck on your diet. If you keep up eating like that it should progress very nicely. :)

Hi man,

Your think is very good. You take balance diet and it keeps our body healthy. I think you will be a happy man.

Thank you

My only suggestion would be to throw in a protein source with your snacks. An ounce of almonds maybe?

Works for me I love almonds. Thanks for the suggestion.
