Sport a few questions

1. is caffeine good for someone who wants to burn fat? i duno, i always thought and energy drink would help. particularly, this one:

i buy the sugarless version btw.
i think i read somewhere that it has about as much caffeine as coffee?

2. is fasting good for a diet? my dad fasts for Lent sometimes, and he says that its mostly hard to do the first day and then he feels pretty well normal the second day. hes only gone 3 days before though.
i doubt ill ever resort to it, but thats why i'm asking... good or bad?

3. hydroxycut. will this help enough or is it worth it? i just bought it like yesterday, and from what i see online the only two things i might be concerned about is higher blood pressure, and acne... and well nosebleeds but i don't ever get those. oh, it also said headaches but i haven't had one yet...

Ha you trying to make your heart angry at you eh?

But seriously, caffeine just isn't good for you but its a personal decison.

Diet pills, are just bad for you, bad for your heart, and most importantly when trying to lose weight are bad for your metabolism.

Just eat right and workout, thats plenty good enough, the rest is unhealthy, gimmicks and going to do more damage than good.

Okay, a different perspective:

Caffeine and hydroxcut (same kind of thing - stimulant thermogenics) can HELP you lose weight. The main pitfall that people encounter when using these is dehydration. You can't burn fat if you're dehydrated (the act of releasing fat requires tremendous amounts of water) so if you're using caffeine or hydroxycut, you want to drink tons of water. And no -- teas/coffees/energy-drinks don't have enough water content to make up for their stimulation - and energy drinks in particular contain a lot of sugar and other badness which will set you back.

Even the best thermogenic will only help you burn maybe an extra 300 - 500 calories per day IF YOU'RE LUCKY. The safest thermogenic is probably calcium pyruvate, which is non-stimulant and we know how it works in the body, and has no side effects. If you're considering a diet pill, start with this one. You'll lose roughly 300 calories per day, predictably.

Fasting can help, yes, but starvation does not. Fasting should be done infrequently (1-2 days a month at most) and should be accompanied by tons and tons of water and rest. It's good for purging the body though if you're doing it purely for weight loss, you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

lol yea im normally pretty good about the hydration thing.
i mean, it says on the side of the hydroxycut bottle 8 glasses a day at least. i drink that much anyways. (yes, pure water)
either way, i don't drink the energy drink everyday or anything...
also, when you say it'll help me burn 300Cals a day, don't you mean extra? lol
i mean, i run like 3 miles a day and ride a bike when i can get a hold of one (i have 2 brothers and my friend lives with us too, all within like 2 years, im the middle child)
oh, i plan on buying rollerblades too... lol im sick of running on a treadmill its so boring... but i get it done.

Yes, though the instant oatmeals usually come with too much sugar and additives. It's high in fiber, which keeps your digestive system healthy and fills you up.

yea, i think im gonna eat one packet at a time though. i ate two today and then read that a single one was a serving size.
what about shrimp? i read the health info it said it has no fat, but you never know.
my parents always tell me that seafood is good for you, so i duno.

Shrimp is low in fat, high protein, like most sea creatures. They are very high in cholesterol however.

yea, ahh well.
how about pretzels?
any thoughts on sunflower kernels? lol...
i guess im just gonna avoid eating too much, instead of WHAT i eat... because i know whats good and whats bad (in general)

any ideas on how to train myself into eating less?

fade2green - it looks like a LOT of your questions are nutrition oriented. I suggest training yourself thoroughly in reading product labels. All the info is there, you just have to know how to interpret it!

lol

well, i read the shrimp label and it had two different informations. one was in serving amounts and one was how much per 2,000 calories. i guess the 2,000 calories was a standard daily diet. of course, the per serving one said 0Grams of fat, and the other one said 65Grams of fat.
I GOT CONFUSED! i have been reading the labels though... but i can't tell when something is artifical and has a lot of chemicals, or when its natural and doesn't have many chemicals.
