A Fat Fox Rolls Into The Room...

History:

In high school I was 6'4" and 185lbs without effort. I went to college, living on my own I gained up to around 250lbs. I lost it after effort down to 220lbs. I Then gained up to 300lbs, then down to 215lbs. I maintained it for a while until I couldn't run anymore.

I used to do Krav Maga, Boxing, Archery, Marksmanship and worked as a security contractor until health issues. Once I couldn't run I started to gain, then I derailed on nutrition and couldn't get back on track.

The past 5 years has been some hell and struggle, financially, socially, career, health, credit, everything just crashed for a while. Extremely hard as I am incredibly Type-A by nature.

Currently:

This year has been the best so far, and I am finally getting my life back to where I feel good financially, career, school, socially, etc.

I work a part-time job as a government contractor, own a business, and I am going to school. My current GPA is a 4.0, my annual performance review was 147% productivity rating vs. the 100% requirement.

My job is sedentary, my school is online and sedentary, my life is sedentary, and my plate is so full to the brim of life priorities that I have little left in the tank to exert towards health and wellness, as sad and messed up as that is.

My fitness is the one thing I haven't been able to square away. I would like help to fix the issue, I even understand the science of health and fitness. Where I can't seem to bridge the gap is getting a plan built for my health/fitness that I will actually follow with everything else I have to do to keep my life together.

I understand it's my fault, and there is plenty of room to judge and criticize me, but I have been down this road enough times to know I need help if I really want to succeed moving forward.

i'm curious what changed when you went to college? did you have to feed yourself? did you live in a dorm where there was a cafeteria? did you or do you now eat the traditional 3 meals a day at those traditional 3 mealtimes?

currently... do you have control of your food/ shopping, etc? that is, do you live alone or do you share food planning with anyone else? have you ever examined the sort of food you are eating? mostly wondering if you are aware of how much sugar/ added sugar is in your normal diet?

drink much beer/ alcohol? ....purely a dietary question.

Hi, FF & welcome to the forum. I flatly refuse to call you Fat Fox (I do like a bit of alliteration) as I would not call anyone fat anything. We don't judge or criticize. We have almost all been down that path. That is why we are here.
The diary section of the forum is very active. If you feel like starting a diary over there please join us. The link is- https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/

Hello dear. Please don't feel bad about your experience. When changes happen in life we might get derailed from our goals or our wishes, but the important thing is that we don't give up.

I understand how tough having a sedentary job and studying at the same time could be. I also felt helpless about my health during that time and am trying to gain control slowly.

I agree with Cate about having a diary. For me, it helps to be aware of what I'm doing about my health, it's not exactly like a plan but you can also write down your plans there.

:)
