Alright, let me give you my basic info, I'm 19 ,weigh 265 lbs and am 6'5". I have always been a somewhat active person (I was a varsity athlete in high school) and have decided to start training for boxing. I will be in a boxing tournament in 11 months and I am hoping to fight in the 200 lb weight division. Thus, my goal is to lose 65 pounds in 11 months. I may endup fighting at 220 depending on how much muscle I put on, but I think 200 is a good longterm goal to start with.
I am breaking the next 11 months into 3 time chunks based upon what will be happening in my life over the next 11 months. The chunks are: first 2 months, next 3 months, final 6 months.
For part 1 (first 2 months) my goal is to lose 25 lbs. This will be accomplished through a fairly balanced approach of diet and excercise.
Diet:
Consisting of mainly grilled chicken breasts, whole grain pasta, and water. A protein-plus Power Bar for breakfast. 2000-2200 calories a day.
Exercise:
Weight lifting 3 times a week (I need the strength for boxing)
Jogging 3 times a week
Interval Training 2 times a week
This is my plan just for the first 2 months, after that changes will be made. The actual boxing training doesn't start until the final 6 months.
I would appreciate any comments you have.
Oh yeah, I will be making updates every so often to let you guys know how I'm doing.
