I see so many commercials for NutriSystem, WeightWatchers, weight loss supplements, etc Etc but I have lost 65 lbs in ten months on my own, using my own system. And I'm not a kid either, I'm 68 yrs old! Feel about 35 now though!! Here's how I did it:
I cut my calories down to 900 per day or less (yes I know nutritionists say that's not enough but it worked just fine for me)
I eat only fresh fruit, fresh veggies, lean protein, occasional egg, cottage cheese.
NO starch - no bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, peas, corn, tacos, bananas.... You know what's starchy!
NO refined sugar at all
I went to World Market and got two little soufflé dishes that hold about 1-1/2 cups, it's about 5" in diameter. My meals (breakfast and dinner) have to fit in there, if it doesn't, I don't eat it. This really helps with portion control!!
Be sure to drink lots of water and take your multivitamin!
I live on a hill, about a city block long. I started climbing the hill in July 2015. The first time I thought I'd have to call an ambulance! But I kept climbing every day and now I do six laps a day, minimum. I also do some light weight lifting at home (I hate gyms).
I've lost 65 lbs, down from 200 lbs to 135 (I'm 5'4"). The weight loss has slowed down now but I'm keeping on to 125, then I'll maintain. If I can do it, you certainly can!!
Rule #1: NEVER EVER GIVE UP!!! You will hit plateaus. Don't despair, just re-examine what you're doing, make sure your portions haven't crept up, and persevere. Good stuff is happening in your body even if it doesn't show on the scale yet. NEVER GIVE UP!
I was wearing size 18, I'm wearing size 10 now. All my friends are envious... I look pretty good and feel even better. You can do it too!
