Sport 5 meals a day and still hungry!

Sport Fitness
Hehe, as you all know your meant to have 5 meals a day if you want to lose weight, smaller servings of course. Anyway, thats what i have been doing and i think its working (lost 2lbs in a week, this is just a change in diet so its not that early start when you lose loads). But I find I get hungry more now, is this a sign that my body has burnt off whats eaten and is now burning the fat? Sounds stupid i kno, heres my days worth of eating: (half of it you cant really call meals)

Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with toast
Snack: Fruit (Apple/Orange) and Protein Shake
Lunch: Ham/Chicken Sandwich
Snack: Shredded Wheat!!! (Mmmm... seems to have a fair bit of protein as well)
Dinner: As im at home from uni, depends on mum! Hehe, but usually a Meat whether its chicken/turkey/pork with a salad/rice/vegetables

Im aiming to lose weight and tone up...
Is this eating plan ok? Hunger mean my metabolism has increased and doing a better job? Advice please! Thanks

you appear to be starving yourself.

male or female?
age?
height?
weight?
appears your goal is to lose fat right now...right?

Breakfast is low on protein...I eat 5 egg whites with 1 yolk every morning. swap toast for oatmeal if possible.
snack is ok
lunch - honestly I'm not a fan of bread, especially when cutting. its a highly processed and refined carb source.
snack 2: not enough protein. add a shake
dinner seems ok.

i think overall calories are too low, as is protein intake. your healthy fat intake also seems lacking.

yeah need some stats but safe to say you aren't getting enough with your meals. Small meals can actually be "normal meals" if you are eating healthy enough.

here was my meal plan yesterday to give you an idea...

Meal 1-Vita Muffin (these things are awesome) and Whey shake
Meal 2-Lean bean Chilli (light red kidney beans, veggies and 96% lean beef) with a side of light tostios chips
Meal 3-1 whole egg/3 egg white omelette with 2% cheese
Meal 4-Hamburger (96% lean) on lite whole wheat bun
Meal 5-Turkey breast (not processed from whole bird) with snap peas and aspargus
Meal 6-Advantage Protien shake before bedtime for snack

See every meal i try to get One Protien and One Good carb. My last "meal" is just a snack but it was bedtime and i needed to get in a few more calories. You should NEVER be hungry. You should never feel hunger pains. If you space your meals ever 3 hours and get the right things for you body not only will you not be hungry, you almost have to force yourself to eat.

All that for me equals 1387 calories with a boat load in protien and good carbs. I am 5'5 and weigh 128 and am trying to lose a little more body fat and this is working just fine for me at my weight and height. If you are anymore taller or weigh more, you need to be getting way more than that.

Well im Male at 6foot tall and weigh around 180lb with very broad shoulders (just so you dont all think im over weight :p) and my aims are to lose weight and tone up.

Why dont you eat the yolk? Cheers for the help, to increase protein in my breakfast, would peanut butter on wholemeal bread be enough? I will also add a shake with my afternoon snack, cheers!

woo yeah you need to be eating alot more. To maintain your weight you need about 2650 calories a day. What you want to do is deduct 500 from that so take in 2150. If you do less than that then your body will store your fat thinking you aren't going to get enough food (ie where hunger pains come from) So congrats you get to eat more and still lose weight;) Split your total into 5 and you are allowed 430 per meal. Having 200 one meal and then 600 another defeats the purpose so try to get it all as close as possible.

Look around here there are lots of peoples meal plans. Just remember every meal ONE protien, One Carb. Get good fats (leaner meats, nuts) and good carbs (sweet potatoes, brown rice, whole grain bread, veggies and fruits) and stay away from oils, sugars, white pasta, white breads. Basically the closer it is to having come straight from the ground the better. Egg yolks just arent that great for you and also contain alot of fat. I use 1 egg for every 3 whites.

Do this and get in 5 days a week cardio (30 mins) and 2-3 days a week strength training and you will see real results in no time.

Thanks a lot for all that help/advice, seriously appreciated :) If im right no need to reply on this question. I take it your body doesnt need a days rest in terms of cardio like weight training does?
