Hi guys. My name is Noah. I live in the Pacific Northwest and currently work manufacturing. Over the past 4 years I have gone from 6'1 and 250lbs to 375lbs, and I'm scared. No weight loss techniques seem to work, in fact they usually make it worse. Last year around May I weighed 330lbs. I did the paleo diet for about 6 weeks, but did not notice any weight loss after the initial 15lbs. By November I was at 370lbs and I have stayed there since then. I am not a health nut but I am also not a regular consumer of sweets or junk food. I have reduced my carb and coffee intake immensely, started packing lunches, eating more fruits, and working out at the gym. For the past week I ate light meals and clocked in about 3 miles on the treadmill every day. When I stepped on the scale I had actually gained weight. I am frustrated and worried that I have some sort of medical issue at this point, and I'm looking for answers or any suggestions you guys might have. I want to be back down to 200lbs. My knees are constantly aching and it's very hard to continue working out and seeing no results.

Hi, Noah & welcome to the forum. I would suggest that you see a doctor & get a thorough checkup to make sure that you do not have any medical issues. I would also suggest that if there are no medical issues that you see a nutritionist if that is possible. Do you drink soda? Do you know roughly how many calories you consume in a "usual" day? Let us know what a typical day looks like & we can have a look. Tracking what you consume for a while might give you a better idea of where any problems might lie. The main thing is not to give up. Having youth on your side helps.

Hi Noah,
Welcome to the forum!
Every day gives us the opportunity to start eating in a healthier way - this forum is a great way of staying focused to do just that!
