I'm so glad I found this forum. I'm getting married in 3 months and I need to drop some weight and fast. (Especially since I'm wearing a strapless dress!)
I am 5'4", and I'm pretty embarrassed to say I weigh about 200 pounds. I wear between a size 14 and 16 pants. I am and have always been pretty muscular. I love to lift weights several times a week. But now I've got extra junk in the trunk that needs to go.
My goal weight is 150.
Like many of you all, I have faced endless frustration with dieting and exercising. It's like a never-ending battle. The smallest I've ever been in my adult life was 140, and a size 10-12, and this is when I was 17, refusing to eat, smoking a half-pack a day, and exercising like crazy. And my doctor still told me I needed to lose 20 pounds!
About 4 years ago I did the Atkins diet, I lost 35 pounds in about 6 months, but the second I quit that diet I gained it all back.
I've made major changes to my diet in the last year, switching to higher protein, low fat, only whole grains for carbs, fresh fruits and veggies, I won't keep any junk food in the house, but it's not enough.
What I'm missing is a good kick-my-butt workout routine. Just so happens I hate to exercise. Actually, I really like to exercise, but then I feel all sweaty and gross and stinky. See? I'm so good at rationalizing, shame on me! Ihope you all will kick my butt here. Thanks for the support!
