My family has a history of diabetes and strokes, so I aim to keep cholesterol intake as low as possible, so basically a vegetarian diet with fish for protein along with nuts and tempeh. I do all my own prep and cooking so that I can keep a strict calorie control. I don't worry about carbs too much, but I do keep an eye on nutrients and take supplements. I have pureed fruits for breakfast, nearly always banana. This minimizes the load on my digestive system, allowing my body to continue with its cleansing cycle which finishes around midday, so I have read.
