27 Year Old Male in need of advice

Hello, gang.

I am a 27 year old male, about 5'6 in height and weighing 185 pounds aprox. Just wondering what my ideal weight should be? How many calories I should be eating each day?

Basically, I weighed 200 lbs as little as a month ago and lost 15 lb in about 2 weeks just by running 3 miles a day, 4 out 7 days a week, along with eating better. Since then I have plateued a little and am having trouble dropping much at all. I don't own any weights, or have a gym membership, so cardio would be the ideal way to lose this weight for me. Of course, sit-ups, crunches, push-ups, etc...whatever will work. What will work, is the question?

I would appreciate any help tremendously. These forums are amazing.

Getting started is half the battle.

Hey man,

Good to hear from you. Getting started is at least half the battle.
You can get a free eBook that is a complete start in weight loss
and I think answers some of your questions.
You can check it out at icanloseweight.org

This is a great forum. Stick with it man.

All the best to you.

I think you just have to play around with things that work and don't work for your body. For example, at 24, I swim and run, but bicycling doesn't seem to help my cardio/weight loss goal, but with some people it does. The same goes with the weight exercises, there are some I like and get a great 'burn' from and others are easier and don't give me quite the burn.

Calories are huge as I am coming to find out. You have to cut calories in order to lose weight in some way, unless you are looking to gain lean mass or bulk up.
