Done the impossible

Morning,

I view that in 2007, I accomplished the impossible in so many aspects of my life, I find it difficult to enumerate them. They include:

* Losing 40+ pounds
* Excelling in karate
* Teaching my kids academics
* Running Camp Ling, my summer camp for my kids, and having it turn out superbly
* Writing 12 eseminars on recruiting
* Learning that I own all my choices and can take ownership for all my actions...and that's actually a very empowering thing
* Fighting thru stark fear and coming back for more
* Being able to do 3 (count 'em, 3!) unassisted chinups
* Being able to do 50 pushups in one sitting

Those are some of my accomplishments,

Barbara

This year i achieved so many things i thought i couldnt,

I achieved:
My weight loss goal (150!)
I lost over 90 pounds
I built muscle i so badly wanted at the beginning of the year
I finally got my own place, and showed my parents my responsibility toward school and work. (my grades are good :))
I am able to so many more exercises and sports i couldn't achieve with last years body :)
I'm able to run over a mile without running out of breath

I'm so proud of what i have achieved and i have learned that anyone can achieve what they truly want in life with hard work and dedication. I am looking for to 2008 for my new achievements i hope to reach by the end!

As far as 2008 New years plan, lets just say its going to be one enjoyable night :)

I was just thinking about this yesterday. It was a year ago I joined this forum and last January I started my weightloss journey!
37 lbs lost to date. (80+ total!)
I worked out and got stronger than I have ever been over the summer. no chin ups yet though;)

Cute thread!

I've:
* lost 39 pounds
* worked up to be able to run a whole 5k
* done well in school
* changed majors
* made things better between my family and me
* made new friends
* worked hard
* finally started to get things together happiness wise

What I accomplished in 2007:

-I finally figured out what I want to do with my life! Yay!
-I went through a very hard time (depression) and came out the other side much stronger.
-I got my first car!
-I joined this forum.

Looking forward to 2008.

2007 was kind of a boring year for me:

-I lost 20 lbs
-The dog I've had since 5th grade died
-I turned 21
-I left my old roommate for 3 new roommates who are WAY better
-I got a 4.0 gpa
-I became MUCH better friends with my sister

turned 22
got 2 new cars
lost over 125 lbs
gained a new life
moved close to my family
motivated many ppl to start working out and changed some lifes!

2007 was a terrible year for me regarding weight loss (er-gain), but a lot of things outside of weight improved which make me excited about 2008.

-started a new job that i really enjoy
-went back to school working on my BS
-got closer with some of my friends that i grew distant from (was in a very serious relationship for a long time)

2007 was a tough year, but i'm feeling really good going into 2008 and look forward to a more successful year in review.

11 days to go in this year so I'm still hoping for good things...

but my biggest accomplishment so far was the 3 day 60+ mile breast cancer walk I did in august, where the accomplishment was staying in the camp, eating nasty food, using porta potties, and raising the required money was more of a challenge than actually walking 20+ miles a day in Chicago august heat... :D

Down 90lbs and a couple of inches for the year so far, and I'm really hoping to break 200lbs gone by years end but that might not happen... it's ok -it will...

My biggest accomplishment this year was going back to school!!! I have been out of school for over 10 yrs and Ihave a family, so for me to go back to school was a BIG STEP and I'm very proud of myself!!

It looks like 2007 was a great year for alot of you!!!! WTG! Lets work for an even better 2008!

Both of those equal a stellar year in my book!! WTG!! I know your not the type,but i really hope you pat yourself on the back for a job well done!

HITS:

• Started out '07 at an all time low in weight.
• Broke my personal walking record.
• Found a new love for bike riding and it rewarded me beyond my wildest dreams.
• Remained fast food-free.
• Got all my teeth fixed.
• Passed my D.O.T. physical, clearing me the possibility to return to work.
• Female activity - in the grand scheme of things, I rate this a B+ thing for me.
• Best of all, the reversal of my diabetes-related number, mainly my A1c
• My daughter enrolling - and still continuing her education at Penn State.
• Meeting Nicole (from here). [inserted gold star]
• Decreased my smoking by over half (still needs closure, IMO)
• Purchased my first Large shirt and 38 pants.
• Redoing my apartment was a 'feel good'.

WHIFFS:

• Finding out I have heart disease.
• Currently trying to figure out why I've been drinking a lot.
• Torn between loneliness - hating it and loving it. No happy medium with me, it seems.
• A total weaksauce finish to my weight loss year. Yes, it pisses me off.
• The holidays. Thank you for the next 51 weeks without them.
• My brother's attempt at being a Brookhaven'er. It fucking hurts worse than I can write about it.
• I didn't honor my promise to myself to the finish line (tho there never is a 'finish line' in weight loss, is there)
• Still on disability - at one time I cared greatly about the reversal, after a flat year and 100% 'not employable' rejection rate, why should I care at all ??

Congratulations to all on the achievements here. Heart warming and mind blowing.

I'll have to have a think about mine.

Randy, your honesty is one of the things that will get you past the rest of your checkered flags - even for the things you don't really get to be finished with. :)

2007 was great for me and I know that 2008 is going to be better! Weight loss wasn't there last year but I was pretty busy....
Got engaged!
Quit an amazing piano job as I had to move
Had an INCREDIBLE assistant job with an engineer that I miss like crazy
Bought a darling blue fish (this is a big deal to me) that is still with me
Got married!!
Met my best friend for the first time (long-distance)
Moved in with my darling husband
Enjoyed Christmas with my in-laws.

This was just a good year.....I married him. :)
