Whats a Plateau? and for the ladies..if you lose to much weight and have a big chest will you lose your chest too?....im 147 i want to be 120 and im a 34D will i go down on my chest?.....

Hi FloridaHottie, as to what a Plateau is its where you are stalled at the same weight for however long could be a week or longer.

As far as the whole weightloss big chest thing, I'm a 48dd and my bras are starting to get looser but doesn't mean necessairly that my cup size is getting smaller just the band size like the 48 has gone down to like a 44 i believe but i don't know for sure as i haven't tried on new sizes as far as bras go. I have lost 23.6 lbs out of the 111 lbs i'm trying to lose and had hoped my boobs would get smaller as i have never been that small in that area. Hope this helps some as far as your question.

thanks hun...i hope i dont go threw a plateau.
but thanks for the info...ill just have to wait and see if anything in that area changes..:)

The less weight you have to lose, the more likely you are to experience plateaus as a general rule.

Might you lose some weight from the boobs? Maybe.

It's very possible that some of your weight loss will come from your breasts. If you ever look up their anatomy, a good portion of them is just fatty tissue. I also know girls that gain weight strictly to their chest area first and that fat is also the first place they lose. It shouldn't be too extreme though. The only time you ever hear of women starting to become flat chested is when they have very little body fat and are extremely athletic.

I haven't lost any of my bewbs yet. I am still a DD. I am sure I will loose some though! That's ok, I don't need it all :D

Ha, that's kinda my thought too. Right now they're pretty proportional, but I don't want to look pornstar-ish when i'm tiny. :D

my boobs have shrunk to nearly nothing. but in my case fat = big boobs:slim = no boobs.think i have gone from around a 44c to a 34b. but i do look in proportion.slim

Not really sure, but the ladies that help you find the right bra size once told me that you don't lose cup size, but band size.

And most women aren't wearing the right size bra - that goes for cup and band size.

I'd say get fit, then worry about the boobs.

And finally when it's all said and done, go get yourself sized for the right bra (like at Victoria Secret or a boutique.)

Good luck with your fitness goals!

Morning,

I concur with the folks above. I went from a 42D to a 36C.

The good news is that the decrease of fat makes me a bit more, how shall I say, perky! After 4 kids, that was a very pleasant surprise indeed.... :)

thanks for the advice...i really dont want to lose my chest..(not being concided) but alot of guys always noticed them first ..lol..thats how they knew me from my chest its not like a have huge porn star boobs but they always seemed to like them.....after i had my daughter i lost that firmness and there not as lifted .and if i do lose weight and they go smaller i still want to look atracted to my hubby cause the first thing he noticed about me to were my boobs..lol....i know he checks out the playboys models on tv with that nice rack and i feel bummed cause i want to look attaractive...especially for my hubby....he says he loves me no matter what i look like. but all men want some nice features.

I work part time for a major :eh: Canadian :eh: lingerie retailer so I have a lot of experience in this area.

Your cup size will change because your band size is changing. There is a common misconception among women that a 32D and a 36D are the same size. This is wrong! Your cup size (the letter) is simply a ratio. It indicates the distance between the fullest part of your breast and your rib cage. So someone who is an A cup has one inch between her rib cage and the fullest part of breast. Someone who is a B cup has 2 inches, C is 3 inches, D is 4 inches, DD is 5 inches, etc. So when you're comparing someone who is a 32D to someone who is a 36D, while they both wear D cups the woman who is a 36D obviously has a bigger breast but they are both D cups because they both have 4 inches between the fullest part of their breast and their rib cage. The number portion of your bra indicates the size around your rib cage.

This is what has happened for me. I started out as a 38B. I lost some weight so the size of my rib cage (the fat around it) went down to 36 but I did not lose any weight in my breast. Because I went down in my band size (the number part of a bra size) I had to go up in my cup size to compensate for the weight loss and give me the proper fit. I am now a 36C. As I continue to loose weight I expect the same will happen. I will loose weight in ribs and need to wear a 34 but shouldn't lose any or much weight in the cup so again I will go up to a 34D. It is very difficult to explain this in a way that makes sense to someone who doesn't work in lingerie but all three bra sizes I have mentioned in this paragraph have the exact same BREAST size. If you lined up three women with those bra sizes you would see that their breasts are the same.

In the three years I have worked at this lingerie store, I have seen maybe five women who have lost weight in their cup. While breasts are comprised of fatty tissue it is an area of the body does not retain a large amount of fat when you gain weight. You'll more likely notice them firming up then losing fat.

1 week stalled at the same weight does not a plateau make...

i think most people will find their boobage area will go down proportionally -I don't think a person is going to go from a 48DD to a 32A - you will probably stay in the DD range just the band size will decrease...

I went from a 44DD (ish) to a 36DD right now - so I really do think it stays proportional
