Hi everyone, I know we aren't supposed to weigh ourselves weekly but I really needed some encouragement and visibility that all the extra effort is worth it.
I started on Sunday 27th May, started my p**** on the Wednesday (not sure if that makes a difference, but I just read Kannadew's post and it sounds similar to her...anyway I'm waffling.

I lost 2kg...what did everyone else lose in their first week? And do you think periods make a difference to weight loss success that week?

Stef

Stef, I found weighing myself too often, especially at the start, was very risky as it was too disappointing if you hadn't lost much that week. You will lose weight & size really quickly if you stick with the plan. It's hard, I know, not to weigh all the time but you'll be better off in the long run if you don't. Periods make a big difference I'm sure, as I think we usually retain fluid then. ( I haven't had them for 12 years but still ovulate & retain fluid). You'll be right- you'll be slim before you know it! Cheers, Cate.

Hey Stef, I am in the same boat as you. I start my program on Friday and I am due for my period then too. Just have to keep positive and try not to get on the scales....well at least to the following week.

Good luck:)

Hi Stef,
I lost 3.5 in my first week. I refer to TOM (time of month) as Aunt Flo. When Aunt Flo's in town the scales do not move much at all but the week after she's left town it balances out and I usually have a bigger loss. At the moment she's in town and I have not had much of a loss at all - I am a serial weigher daily, sometimes twice.

Don't be too bummed about the first week loss, if you stick to it 100% no deviations then you will see a weight loss every week.

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling positive that the 2nd week will be better. Cate, I just can't hold out for 4 weeks between weighing. I've never been on a diet and really need to see that the struggle is paying off. Because it's early days the way my clothes fit hasn't changed that much.
Thanks again. You're all so positive and encouraging.
It really is the glueing that's holding me together.
Stef
