Im a 19 y/o guy tryin to gain approx. 35-40 lbs of muscle...i'm 5'11 165-170 depending on the time....not fat but not ripped either lookin for any good suggestions
I will be straight to the point: If you are looking to gain 35 to 40 pounds of "pure muscle", you have "several years" of hard work ahead of you. It will not come in a year, and it will not come in a few months, IMO.
It "will" take much dedication and persistence, coupled with adequate knowledge of yourself as pertains to your personal dietary needs, and adapting to feed back from your fitness training. You have this "within" you, and you have to "wake it up" and "unearth it!"..........Get ready to rumble!
The fact is it will not come on easy, and you are going to have to be up for the challenge each and every day, and be committed.
This is the no none sense bottom line.
It is best to build small reachable goals to reach the main one you want to achieve in the end.
With this in mind, have you approximated your personal calorie needs?
What do you have to available to to train with? You have to educate yourself in the very "things" that will lead you to your goal, and know how to manipulate the things you learn. If you don't, you will learn rather quickly this IS what is required of you.
Best regards,
