18 years old-One year to get in shape for football

Hey guys. I'm currently a Freshman in college and I'm planning on going out for football in my sophomore year.

Current Build
6' 6"
215lbs
Kinda out of shape. Play basketball regularly, run 2x a week, push ups/situps

In One Year-
Hoping to be around 230. But hoping to burn about 15-20 pounds of fat.

Now my question. I'm planning on starting this workout schedule for the next year right after thanksgiving, one big meal and then its time to start dieting.

I'm hoping to have a beach body by the summer and a football body by the end of summer.

What kind of workout should I begin. I've got a gym on campus that I'm going to start going to, what kind of diet should I do on, what types of supplements should i start taking, i've been considering NitroTech, Hydroxycut, and Muscle Milk.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you don't have your priorities straight. What position do you want to play? At 6' 6" and 215 lbs, cutting back for a beach body and then bulking back up for ball is stupid, unless of course you're going to be a running back, a kicker, or a QB or something like that.

If you want to be competitive when a year comes around, you need not only tons of technique, but strength as well. Most of the guys you're playing with have been lifting since they were 14 or 15. Push ups and situps won't cut it.

I say start now. Depending on what position you're going to play, you need to adjust your diet accordingly and get in the gym, pronto. Waiting three weeks before you even know what you're going to do next is foolish.

All of what Lei said and
do this

Why are you waiting until after Thanksgiving? Why not start now?

Diet-
1 gram protein per lb of bodyweight (easy way to get enough protein)
85-100 grams of fat
adjust carbs according to tolerance
4-8 meals a day

When I said a beach body, for the most part I meant to be cut.

So far it looks like Tight End or Running Back, and after thinking about it I realized that I'm going to start lifting right away, I didn't realize taht Thanksgiving was over a month away.

In that case, it would still be unwise to cut months before tryouts. Bulk, gain all the muscle you can, and set time to be cut ENOUGH to be competetive.
