18 Y.O. training

First off, I'd like to say this looks like an awesome community that could really help me with training and I'm glad I found it.

Well, here's my situation. I'm getting back into sports after a 3 year break. I've played some ball hockey over said 3 years, but not at the physical aspect I would've liked when I was 15.

I have signed up for a ball hockey league for this summer. It takes a lot of stamina because you're running at full pace non stop. I read somewhere that medicine balls can help a lot with core strength, which helps running.

All in all, I just want to get faster, increase my endurance, and then that will help me with basketball as well! Have any ideas on workouts or routines that could help me? Thanks :)
