16 yr old looking to gain muscles

Data: Age:16
Height: 5'11
Weight: 172
Body Type: Lean flat stomach, looks skinny,
% body fat: 20
Diet: No red meats. Only CHicken Turkey Fish. Vegetables. Low fat intake. Whole wheats etc.
Excercise: Basketball 2-3 times per week full court 5 on 5 games

Suggestions anyone?

Free weights.

But, there is more to it than that.

What is the goal?

If you are looking for strength and health, that is one realm of workout and if you want looks that is another. Healthy strength will get you looks, but there is a reason one produces the other. Artificially putting the cart before the horse has consequences.

In either case, I am trying to say that you need to sit down and workout what you are specifically looking for and why. Do not expect fast results over night, and expect to do one of 2 things:

Pay for your program because it is customized
or
Do a heck of a lot of reading, listen to all kinds of advice, and forever be trying to hit a goal without knowing truly how to get there.

Most guys find out how to hit a goal by experience which includes injuries, improper nutrition, drugs, etc.

Once you have a specific goal and vision, I would reccommend going to a guy that can custom make a program for you exactly the way you need it. If the person you go to is worth anything, he will only have to teach you once, and you will learn it for life.
