Hi there im new here but I guess thats not really important.

Im 16 years old Male 6 ft 3 inches and 300 pounds In short, im fat

Ive been getting sicker and sicker of these a$$holes at my shool so I decided 1 week and 2 days ago to go on a diet. I started lifting weights, stopped drinking pop , and drank only water , juice in the morning and ,milk at dinner. And cut out all the fatty foods , sweets and snacks out.

However, last night I caved in and ate Half a pizza , 2 sandwhiches of tuna and a bag of juujubes (I know, im a f#ckin pig)

Has all my work for the past week and 2 days been reset?

This has really been bugging me please help

First of all, I know your life at school can be truly miserable if you're being made fun of. But try not to be so down on yourself -- at least you want to do something about your health while you're still young, and that's what's truly the most important thing.

Losing weight is not easy; it's a struggle, and sometimes you screw up. When you do, you just have to say to yourself, "that was yesterday; today is a new day, and I can win this battle."

Please take a look at some of the posts in this Index of WLF "Keepers". This is a page of links to some posts on WLF that have a lot of information in them that will be relevant to you.

lol yo man im 6'3 320 right now... i been to almost 400... and i know when i get to 300 i'll be on my way... im not stoping there but i know i startin to look good already.. trust me all u need to do is lose a lil bit man keep lifting weights. and try not to eat at night period. Just eat a big dinner. It wont be a big set back man juss keep pushin on cause alot of days I ate somethin I aint supposed to (not as much as you lmao) u gonna be aiight man.

No offense, I may be 177, but I'm Italian and your cave in could be the before dinner snack for me. So I'm a little disappointed that you think you're a pig.... kinda of a lightweight if you ask me.

Haha, anyways it's great that you've decided to turn yourself around and make some good decisions when it comes to your diet and fitness. I wrote this post to help people like you and I think you'll benefit from reading it http://weight-loss.fitness.com/topic/11905-weightloss-survival-guide.html Lets face it, schools not going to teach you anything about your health and I know it's probably overwhelming trying to find everything on your own, and another good move you made was signing up here and asking for help.

Of course you'll need your diet to be a little tailored, and people here can help you with it if you list what you eat on a usual day. You're a bigger guy and it'll actually be easier for you to lose weight as you start off as long as you have a strong nutritious diet as your base. I'd suggest some lower impact exercises like swimming, hey it is summer after all, but even being more active in general will help you. Make your mom happy and burn some calories by cleaning and organizing your room or vacuuming the house.

TomO posted a great link and you should read over those, I'm sure that will clear up the general misconceptions you'll have.

Good luck, and don't let a penny on the tracks stop the train.

The tuna sandwhiches aren't so bad, I eat about three of them in a day! some good protein in tuna :)
I know some people in school can be complete cunts, it's actually really strange once you drop weight because they have no idea what to say, quite funny really :)
You can do it, just if you feel you're still quite dependant on junk food (I was slipping near the end of my first 50lbs gone) then put in ONE cheat day, or even better a cheat meal a week. Sorted! You'll eventually get rid of the junk :)

Chill out! You fell off your diet, thats quite normal. Just pick yourself up, learn from it, and get back into the saddle. Was it in vain - no! If you want to lose weight long term - then start seeing your changes in diet and exercise as long term. You started a new life only nine days ago. It takes time to force new habits, a lot more time than that. You just discovered how powerful your old habits are. It doesn't mean that you can't overcome them, it just needs time and perseverance. It will be worth it.

One point - whenever you do fall off the diet, don't be tempted to do anything silly like not eat for a day after - it wont do your body or mind any good. Just take control again.

Look at it this way, when you were putting on all that weight one healthy meal didnt halt that did it? Now that you are trying to lose weight one unhealthy evening isnt going to stop it unless you let it turn into 2 then 3 then 4 and so on.

We all have these blips every now and then. Heaven knows I have my fair share! as others have said you just have to try again, right away. As time goes on you will find it easier to resist those cravings!

You have to learn to be nice to yourself, one slip up does not make you a total failure it just makes you human, no matter what people at school may be saying. I know thats hard to beleive because I was bullied myself but you just have to try and get past it.

Best of luck, hope that helped!
