16 Year Old Just wanting to get ripped/fit

Hi, I Ruptured my ACL (Cruciate Ligament) in my knee 6 months ago. I had my surgery 4 months ago and still have another 5 months minimum before I'm back fully to sport. I'm at the gym building up strength in my knee and my physio recently told me to start running on grass so I'm doing that. I go to the gym 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and I plan to go running every other day with a break on Sunday. Is that too much? I planned on building up my upper body while I'm out of sport in the gym. I'm 16, 5 foot 10 inches and 74 kg. Would running be good for lower my body fat %? Thanks for your help and suggestions in advance.
