I reallllly need help! i did lose weight bfore but it crept back at me when i had problems with my digestive system and my bowls.

check out the sticky threads under Newcomers (where your other post is). They pretty much explain the gist everything of that you dont know.
How much weight is 3-4stone in kg? doesnt sound like too much and should be do-able fairly easy (though im totally guessing here lol)

Start a diary thread and have a read of others, perhaps join in some of the challenges for motivation and stuff.

Hey, I just signed up today ^^ I have the same problem, I am only 13 and I am REALLY overweight, I weigh about 170 pounds, And About everybody else weigh 120 pounds. Dont worry, just keep up workouts =)

Heya bluemoon27.
Stick with it , loose it, but do it as healthy as you can aye. There is a dude Steve who knows his stuff and hes really onto it.
Take his advice whereever possible :)

Let me just give one more recommendation:

Stay away from diets unless you really know what you are doing!

Here's why - when I was 15-16, I put myself on an extremely cruel diet. I was so obsessed with losing extra weight (yes, there was a girl involved) that I was literally weighing how much yogurt I could eat a day.

As a result, I was able to document remarkable weight loss, but it came at a price - I think that diet is one of the reasons why I never grew taller than 178cm.

So, please, whatever you do, go careful on diets (and stay away from them at all if possible) - your chances or wrecking havoc on your body and damaging your long-term body development are pretty high.

Most diets are damaging.

Now if only I had listened to my parents when they told me that, maybe today I would have been taller than my girlfriend on high heels...

So because you dieted like a moron you've come to the conclusion that all diets are bad?

n=1 is a great sample population to base such a ludicrous assumption on.

Seems like a lot of people trying to sell something use that kind of sophistry.

Steve,

Not at all - I was simply saying that a diet can be a bad idea if you don't know what you're doing - and, at the age of 15-16, the chances of that are pretty high. Like you said, most diets are damaging, so picking the right one can be a bit of a pain without sufficient knowledge.

I'm not saying that there aren't any good diets out there, I am simply suggesting that unless you can tell the good ones from the bad, it's probably safer to stay away from them (unless you can get some solid advice from someone).

Regards,
George

I actually meant to say most diets AREN'T damaging. If you looked at everything out there, unless they are starving you or depriving you of some of the vital macros/micros/minerals/etc.... the diet is not damaging.

Very few diets promote such extremes.

That said, you are right in the context of a child. They're better off simply eating a balanced *diet* and not worrying about the confines of a pre-packaged diet plan at such an age.

But that doesn't change the fact that a majority of the diets aren't going to be 'terrible' for your health or even stunt your growth.

The only 'damage' that most diets inflict is metabolic adaptation. But you can't get away from that.

*Edit to add - I'm not even a fan of prepackaged diets in most cases.

First of all, you need to change your state of mind. You came to this board, with a time limit in mind. Weight loss is a transformation and a process, and it can't and should not be forced. Once you've changed your state of mind and learn to be patient, then you'd want to change the WAY you eat, the amounts you eat and the times you eat...I know, sounds like alot to remember, but it isn't, you'll know this like clockwork after a couple weeks. You don't want to rush into any diet, lose some weight and then once you leave that diet, then gain twice the weight back. Here's some good tips that you can follow:

(Keep in mind that these tips are GENERAL tips, since I do not know you personally, your habits nor your physical health)

- Eat frequently, preferribly 5-6 smaller meals per day
- Get some exercise into your daily routine
- Watch what you eat, and count your calories
- Don't starve yourself
- Drink plenty of fluids, water preferribly
- Don't snack on sweets, instead snack on broccoli or some other healthy alternatives

Of course there are a lot more tips out there, but I'm not quite sure what type of resources you'd have available at your expense considering your age.....Just watch what you eat, drink lots of water, and exercise and you should be on the right path...Dont rush it, or you'll fail.
