15 minute runs

I sometimes like to do 15 minute runs on my cardio days because its my favorite speed/distance to run. I usually do these in the morning before breakfast, having just water, maybe a piece of fruit beforehand. Before I run I do a light and short resistance training doing lunges and leg curls and then 1 or 2 other isolation workouts I couldnt fit on my lifting day.
When I do my run, I do it at just about 100% effort.

My question is, is there anything really wrong with doing this?

There is a great debate on whether exercising on an empty stomach burns more fat than if you had eaten beforehand, but the jury is still out on this one. If you feel okay, do it.

Personally, I need to eat before doing any cardio.

I don't eat before my 5K runs in the morning. I just like getting up and hitting the road without the big production of eating first. I come back and drink one of my cytogainer shakes then eat breakfast an hour or two later

No worries, you're doing fine, that's a good kickstart of your metabolism for the rest of the day, just make sure you include a 5 min slow jog beforehand, since we are not that flexible first thing in the morning.

Well, thats really good!!

And there's nothing wrong in doing that. Maybe you should aim to get 2.5 kms in 12 mins and then move up to 5 kms. then once you improve on your time for that go for longer. Thats the best way to improve. Just make sure that you have done some stretching before running.

Well done and keep running!! :)

All depends what you are looking to get out of your running. If you are simply looking to get a little bit of cardio and have fun doing it then it's all good. But if you have a specific target in terms of improving your fitness then it may or may not be the right running programme to acheive your goal.
