Sport 1200 cals a day excercize four times a week

Hi I am 18 yrs old 5'8'' and around 116lbs. I eat around 1200 calories a day never less never more than 1300. my diet consists of mainly fruits veggies oatmeal chicken and fish. I eat 5,6 small meals a day. I take a multivitamin to make sure I avoid any deficiancies .I walk 5 miles a day and my workouts consist of 45 mins of intense lifting followed by a 20-30 min ab routine. I started my 1200 cal diet to lose bodyfat in order to then get really ripped. I was also quitting cocaine use so I was worried about ggaining lots of weight. My goal is to get ripped, my question is how much should I be eating, working out, specific excercizes etc... any help appreciated thanks.

Eat more if you want to put on muscle mass, ALOT more, 1200 cals a day.... wow

I eat 2000 a day and im losing weight, your way to small to want to lose weight, you should be eating alot and lifting heavy
 
Eeek! 5'8" and 116 pounds? 1200 calories a day? No more than 1300?1!!! Basically you're gonna need to double your food intake if you want to get some good muscle gains. You're extremely small (if you're a guy).

5'8" at 116 pounds is underweight regardless of gender.
 
hell 5'6" and 116 lbs is underweight.

the cocaine use really screwed up your body...gotta give it time to come back from that damage.

You should be eating way more than 1,300 calories a day. If you were in a coma, completely bed ridden and immobile...they'd be giving you closer to 1,800 calories a day via an IV.
 
If this is not a troll job, to the OP: 116 pounds at 5'8" and not having ripped abs is because you have not built up the muscle.
 
its not that I restrict caloric intake on purpose I just won't be hungry . I eat lots of fruits and veggies because I like to and I eat healthy foods no white flours no extra sugars etc just because I don't know why. I've only been like this for a little while. my calorie intake I mean. if I start eating 500 more calories wojnt I need to excercize more so it doesn't turn to fat? and also because my cal intake is slow low do you think my mtabolism is jacked? I drink plenty f water and usually 5 or 6 cups of brewed green tea which I kno boosts metabolism. everythingim saying is serious s btw.

I too started a diet at incredibly low calory intakes levels - and ended up crashing and burning. Also, in another life I tried the same thing without exercising and regained all the weight. 1200 won't work, male or female.

I progressively learned to add healthy food to my diet to reach a comfortable 2250 and I'm *still* losing weight, to my surprise I must admit.

Follow the advice in the 'nutrition' sticky, it's well worth it.
