110 pounds down.. How to shift the final 42?

Hello,

New to the forum. Always been overweight and had an unhealthy childhood. 2 years ago on the 29th April 2011 I decided to change. Have been to the gym 6 days a week for about 2 hours a time for the last two years. I've still enjoyed food, treats at weekends but I eat a healthy vegetarian diet overall.

I used to be a U.K clothes size 24 now I'm 16 heading to 14. I want to be a 10-12. I have been at the weight I am now for about 3 months. I've tried switching things up but I've always kept my exercise fairly varied.. Spin classes, gym cardio, weights, aerobics. Walking etc.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to shift those final pounds this summer? Its hard to increase my exercise as i have pushed it enough doing it for 2 hours a day! My target was birthday late August, although there's no rush I'm excited to quit the gym and have my social life back. I will of course still exercise but more naturally such as walking everywhere, dance classes etc. I am not concerned about it going back on.. At Christmas I ate lots for two weeks and didnt go to the gym and lost 6 pounds for some reason! I think because I've exercised it off. I haven't put anything on at any point in the last two years.

Any exercise ideas to kick it back into gear would be appreciated :) thanks. Carley

Welcome to the forum!

If you're exercising regularly but still can't lose more weight, you should probably eat less. The more weight you lose, the fewer calories does your body need. I've had the exact same problem and eating less did the trick.

Best of luck to you on your weight loss journey.

Ah how true that is. I started losing at about 2250 daily calories. Now after a 40 lb. loss, the fatloss suddenly stopped, very discouraging. Turns out I need far less daily calories.

Evidently, I need only about 1700 daily to maintain and 1400 to keep losing. Once I started 1400 last week, began losing like always.

Just common sense! the body doesn't have to carry around all that terrible, heavy fat any longer.
