110 lb weight loss and still going!

Hi there:
I stumbled upon your site by accident and got so excited because when I started my weight loss journey in August 2015 I didn't think to do a web search for a community like this. WHAT A FANTASTIC SUPPORT GROUP!

At my top weight, I was 297 lbs. and I'm excited and thrilled to share that to date, I've lost 110 lbs. I've got another 20 to go before I hit my goal. I did not have weight loss surgery. I lost the weight by tracking my calories in an app and going to the gym. It was a simple calorie in/calorie out concept. I went with that weight loss concept because I had been on every diet imaginable and nothing ever worked for me. Why? Because I'm stubborn, I love to eat and I didn't want to give up the foods I loved. I also realized that I was always in a rush to lose the weight and that resulted in fail after fail.

So I did this...I gave myself 30 days to lose weight. If after 30 days I didn't lose an ounce, I'd accept myself for who I was and I'd attempt to stop being miserable. If after 30 days I lost any amount of weight, I would know that I wasn't a lost cause and I'd keep on going. Seemed reasonable enough, so I did it.

I started making small modifications to my diet - substituting bagels and cereal for proteins, etc. Over time, the weight came off and I started to feel better about me.

I joined to help motivate me to lose the last 20 lbs. as it's been a bit of a struggle. I also want to help others if I can.
