I've been walking on my treadmill for 1 hr a day, everyday at a rate of 3.4. I burn over 400 calories per day and I walk a little over 3 miles in one hour. This along with the diet that I am currently on has done well for me.

I lost the majority of my weight with walking 3-5 miles a day. I live in a wonderful pedestrian friendly city with lots of challenging hills so I never got bored. Walking is a wonderful exercise, great way to clear your head and I got to rediscover my city by walking through it vs driving within it.
Awesome job Peaky and David! You guys are an inspiration...I'm hoping to be as much of a distance walker as you guys. I love walking at the trail around my local lake...it is so peaceful, really does a lot for the soul.
That is GREAT! You may see even better results by altering your routine a bit, such as adding some intensity. The idea is to surprise your body and not let it get used to your routine. This way, you burn more calories.

I am working my way up i do have a bad foot and after i walk i feel like it is crushed and can barley walk on it but it gets better but i usually take off walking walk about 2 miles or i will have my son drop me off somewhere and tell him the course i will walk and tell him to come pick me up in one hr and last night i got 2.7 miles in
