1,200 calorie diet and not losing any weight.

I'm doing a similar calories diet at a similar weight myself. I've been told that I won't lose much (if any) weight if I don't drink enough water. A friend of mine also did a 1200 calorie diet, and lost like 1 pound in 3 weeks because she wasn't drinking enough water. As soon as she started having at least 8 8oz. glasses per day, she dropped 2 pounds/week on average (and had to up the calorie count, since she started losing too much too fast).

where you get those calories matter. don't eat pre-packaged foods that say "100 calorie snack" on them. it's bad for you and it doesn't help a thing. eat real food, most of it that grows from the ground. and make sure you're portion controlled. i think this helps a lot.

I've you've been doing this for a while, you've hit a plateau, most likely because your calories are rather low.

If you've just started, give it time, and make sure that you don't underestimate you calorie intake. It's a very easy mistake to make (after 2 years, I still can't eyeball, or guess the amount of calories :( )

Where the calories come from isn't important when it comes to calorie counting. A calorie is largely a calorie, and it makes no difference if your 1200 calories come from chocolate, or garden-grown salad leaves that were watered with organic spring water.

Healthy food (there is no such thing as 'real food'), or if you want to call it that, 'clean food' is certainly healthier for you, and will have a positive impact on your wellbeing, but in the scheme of losing weight and controlling calories, it makes no difference whatsoever.

DO you mean if I take 1200 c from chocolate or 1200 c from leaves its the same effect ??

Why is this?
215Ibs, 5'6, BMI of 34-35

1) You might not be burning a total of 1,200 calories in a day. In order to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you eat. So, if you eat 1,200 calories a day but only burn 1,000 (for example), you're not going to lose weight.

2) You might be counting your calories wrong.
