So.. I still havent gotten into the HIIT life.. or maybe I am, but dont know?

Well, I am taking this Spinning classes that include sprinting, climbing, jumps, etc. We use a lot of resistance and other moments we losen it.

Should I consider this HIIT? The Spinning classes will be over in 2 weeks, and then I will just hit the treadmill for some good HIIT! CANT WAIT TO BURN THE FAT!

There is a difference betweem interval training (which is what you are doing in spinning class) and HIIT (high intensity interval training). The high intensity part of HIIT requires a full out sprint for 10-30 seconds. If you can keep that same pace for any longer then you weren't actually at a high enough intensity level to be truely doing HIIT. The other sign is that after no more than 8 high intensity level sprints you should niot be able to do any more, that is you should be right on the verge of puking and or passing out.

I am sure there are many who will disagree, but IMHO you really can't do HIIT with anything except sprints and/or stair or hill sprints.
