Ready To Shed Those Pounds

Hello.
I am wanting to lose some fat. A few years ago my wife and I went to a gym where they would set you up with a program on lifting weights and aerobic training as well. I went back to join them, but they do not do that any more. So I called some other local gyms. Our old gym wants under $400 for a year for my wife, son and I. They will show you how to use the equipment, but that is it.

A few of the other gyms will help you setup a program, but they will cost $1000+. I know you can not put a price on health, but $1000 seems a little steep.

I have looked online for some help, but there is SO much and who can you trust? Is $1000 reasonable price? We live in the mid-west. Is there a site that can help us? We also need help with nutrition.

My wife and I want to lose fat, but my son wants to put on some muscles.

Thank you in advance.

I'm confused. Are you going to join a gym or not? We can help you through a program but need to know if you are going to join a gym so we know what you will have access to. Let us know.

Hi Garrete,

Be sure to stay motivated for losing those pounds. Feel free to check out my site if you like.
$1,000 does sound quite steep. But I mean if it is a membership for the 3 of you? It may not be that bad. Gym memberships especially combined with personalised programs can be quite expensive.
While you're still looking into what to do about the gym situation, why don't you start going for a walk or a jog each day or whenever you can and doing a few body weight exercises... get the ball rolling...

That's around 28 bucks a month for each of you. I pay 39 a month for myself so I don't think 1,000 is expensive for 3 people.

my membership went from 750 per year to like 900. Rediculous, plus i only use the free weights there anyway. I think i will start using the gym at the local high school, its free!

I hear ya. I'm at $876 per year and I don't go near the weight machines either.

The problem I have with a gym concept is that it's an artificial environment. With that said, nearly everything you do in a gym, can be done outside. You can spend like 30 bucks on sandbags and sand, and do nearly all of the work you do in the gym.

I spend 30 dollars a month at my gym, so that's about 360 a year.

If you want, try your local rec center or Y. I also have a membership to my local rec center, and it costs about 56 bucks for a whole year, but it gets kind of busy depending on when you go.

I thought the same thing, but you wouldent believe it, but the local Y is about 90 per month...funny cause when i was a teenager (10 years ago), it was $100 per year

Sorry. I was not very detailed. I am looking for a gym, but was wondering if $1000 is a lot or if I was crying over nothing.

We start going to the gym tomorrow. They are going to help set us up on our own workout routine. Mine for the moment will be to burn off this extra fat. Does anyone have any good web site to go for info or any good podcast?

Thanks.

Cost alot?

that depends on the person, no?

Personally i think 1000 is crazy, but most people wouldent
