Broken Knee excerises

i noticed that there are other threads for injuries to broken legs....
but none for knees as this a joint as well as a bone i figured that i'd create a new thread.

basically i broke my kneecap about 5/6months ago and was on crutches for around 12 weeks.
im currently going to pysio sessions every two weeks to build up strength in my knee still.

however i was wondering if anyone knew of any exercise i could do for weight loss (mainly due to a "beer belly" being a student!) without putting any strain on my knee?

any tips would be greatly appriciated!
 
you should probably talk to your physio about this. Does your gym have an arm crank cycle? there you sit and cycle with your arms, so no stress on the knees.
