What if I reach my goal but don't look like I want?

Im 5'8 and Im 5 pounds away from my goal of 160 pounds, but I don't think I'll look how I want to.

That is I think i'll be a soggy 160 lbs but I want to be a tight and fit 160 lbs.

So should I continue losing weight maybe get to 150 or stay at 160 and focus on maintaining the weight but decreae my bodyfat %?

You could diet down all you want, but if you don't have enough muscle under the fat you'll never get that hard look. Best route would be to lower BF until your comfortable enough to bulk, then slowly raise calories and lift heavy consistently.

good post phate.. ! agreed.

Gustavo, how are you cutting? Diet only? Tons of cardio?
Well I run/jog/walk for about 40 minutes twice a week, lift weights (biceps, triceps, chest, shoulders, back, quads, hamstrings) twice a week, and play indoor soocer on saturdays.
My diet is around 1,900 calories to 2,300 a day.

Have you asked for input from some other people about being "soggy"? You may have a nice body at this point, but if you lost a lot of weight you might still see your old chubby self in the mirror - ask people who wont give you any bull^^^^ answers (friends who would tell you that you looked great even if you didnt, etc) about how your body actually looks.

I'm the same height as you and this week hit 170... 5 lbs off my original goal (which is the 165 you're at)... I'm afraid of the same thing. I've adjusted my goal to 160 myself. If I believe I wont be satisfied then, I will adjust again...

I think its best to redefine your goals every month. If your goal was once to be 160 lbs. but now is to be tight and fit, its ok to change that, forget the 160 lbs. and aim for what you want now.

its more about bf% but unfortunately you have to lose weight to lower bf% hopefully you still have some muscle left, just becareful w/ your diet or you could try bulking for abit and then cutting again
